The first Sheboygan Area Garden Walk, sponsored by Ivy League and Lake Shore Garden Clubs, was held in 1997. By 1999, Town & Country Garden Club and the UW-Extention Master Gardeners Volunteers had joined. The SAGW Committee, made up of representatives from all four groups, plans and conducts the annual WALK, with the support of their home groups.
Proceeds from the WALK are donated to local non-profit organizations with a "gardening connection". Over $100,000.00 has been donated since the WALK began.
