Town & Country Garden Club

About Us

Town and Country Garden Club had a unique beginning in 1956 when two imaginative and energetic women were determined to organize a house and garden tour. Needing a garden club, they enlisted the talents of friends and established the club. Six months later the highly successful tour drew over 1,000 visitors from all over the state.

For over 60 years, club members have carried on the spirit and dedication of those charter members.  Town and Country became a member of The Garden Club of America in 1969 and was also active in the Wisconsin Federation of Garden Clubs until 1976.

Our objectives are to beautify and improve our environment through:

  • The knowledge and appreciation of gardening, horticulture, and flower arranging
  • The protection of wildlife and native plants
  • The preservation of areas of horticultural, historic, scenic, or ecologic value
  • The prevention of air, water, and soil pollution
  • The encouragement of civic beautification
